Modern engineered surfaces made from natural quartz.

WHAT

IS QUARTZ

Natural quartz is most abundant and a common mineral on earth that is harder like iron and is among the hardest crystalline minerals. Quartz countertops are man-made from quartz minerals using modern technology.

WHY QUARTZ?

Quartz surfaces are simply modern, durable, nonporous and highly scratch and stain resistant

QUARTZ VS GRANITE

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between granite & quartz?

Granite is a type of natural stone mined from quarries around the world and is 100% natural, the slabs are produced from slicing the blocks in to slabs and then finishing the surface to a desired finish like polished, Honed or Leather. On the other hand, Quartz slabs are man-made from natural quartz by combining epoxy and color.

Quartz or Granite, which is better?

When it comes to granite & quartz countertops both are equally strong and durable surface with each having their pros & cons where the main differences in following areas;

Maintenance – Quartz is almost maintenance free due to the non-porous nature as the slab are made by mixing epoxy. On other side Granite and other natural stones are somewhat porous regardless of stones being very dense and strong will need some maintenance but still relatively simple and easy.

Heat Resistance – Granite can resist more heat compared to quartz. Since granite is a natural stone, it has more resistance to heat, whereas quartz slabs are made with epoxy that can melt and crack when exposed to higher temperatures. However, quartz countertops are still highly heat resistant but natural stones can resist more heat in comparison.

Outdoor Use – Granite and other natural stones can be used outdoors and but quartz can change color when exposed to UV rays

Conclusion on which surface will be better will really depend on the application being indoors or outdoors and heat exposure to the surface, as for other features will be based of individual preference.

What is a difference between quartz and quartzite

Both quartz and quartzites are often confused by many because of similarities in the name but both stones entirely different. Quartz is an engineered surface made from natural quartz and epoxy vs quartzite is a type of natural stone mined from quarries just like granite, marble or limestones
